Our Leaders // Chuck + Sandy
Pastor Charles “Chuck” Hudson III
Chuck and Sandy have been married since 2000 and have two children: Renee (husband Chris) and Ryan as well as three grandchildren.
Pastor Chuck was called to Riverside in 2009. After graduating from Christian World College of Theology, he finished his ministerial education via FLAME (Fellowship of Leaders Acquiring Ministerial Education). He is an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church. He previously served as Congregational Care Pastor of his home church, The Journey: a Wesleyan Church. Throughout the week, you can find Chuck on a delivery truck for Waste Management.
His vision is to see Riverside become a body of disciples who are consistently making disciples.
Sandy Hudson
You can find Sandy doing nearly anything needed around the church. She can be found event planning, running media equipment, or coordinating other ministries. Sandy is passionate about seeing the next generation of church leaders grow and develop.
Other Team Members
Rebecca Shockley – Lay Leader
As the lay leader, Rebecca serves as a key leader in our congregation – she is the Pastor’s right hand. In addition, Rebecca is the vice chair for the local church board. She is a teacher for RIVERSIDE KIDS and is a key servant for many events the church hosts.
She and her husband (Eddie) are lifelong residents of Hoopers Island and long to see Jesus become the center of this entire community.
Robbin Jones – Bible Study Leader
Robbin is our new Bible Study leader since 2024, but she is not new to Riverside. She is a faithful member of our congregation, a leader, and a lover of people well.
Robbin is truly a lover of God’s word and is sincerely devoted to believers growing in their knowledge of Holy Scripture. We are so grateful for her and her commitment to the discipleship of all people.
Ryan Hudson – Worship & Creative Arts Pastor
Ryan is responsible for managing our online presence. He is the creative behind church advertisements, sermon visuals, print materials, and event planning.
Ryan is currently studying at Indiana Wesleyan University and serves remotely; however, he joins us as often as possible and leads worship when here.
Eddie Shockley – Facilities Manager
You can find Eddie at the church throughout the week doing various tasks. He manages the maintenance of our toilet, oversees building projects, and often takes the lead on projects himself.
Eddie has a heart for serving other people well and that is evident to all who interact with him.
Riverside is operated by a Local Church Board comprised of the Lead Pastor and elected members of the church.
“The Board” reports to The Chesapeake District of The Wesleyan Church.
