Choosing to be a member of Riverside Wesleyan Church means that you are committing yourself officially to the mission and future of our church.

This video truly reveals the heart behind membership – BELONGING.

MEMBERSHIP AT RIVERSIDE IS NOT DIFFICULT!!!

The goal is that you “Believe, Belong, and Become…”

  1. Believe: This means that you have accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life and have become baptized to declare this to others.
  2. Belong: You should be strengthening relationships and participating in the Christian family and joining in the church missions of discipleship.
  3. Become: Finally, it is critical to be continuing spiritual growth and striving to live a holy life.

In the words of Thom S. Rainer:
“Its not membership as in a civic organization or a country club. It’s the kids of membership given to us in 1 Corinthians 12: “Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it.” Because I am a member of the body of Christ, I must be a functioning member, whether I am an “eye,” an “ear,” or a “hand.” As a functioning member, I will give. I will serve. I will minister. I will evangelize. I will study. I will seek to be a blessing to others. I will remember that “if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” (1 Corinthians 12:26)

So what are the responsibilities of a member?

  1. Members must attend regularly.
  2. Should be eager participants in church activities, functions, etc.
  3. Love and care for the congregation. Committing to prayer and support for all in the congregation.
  4. Members will vote on pastoral terms and will confirm new members.
  5. Overall, members will live by example for the whole church and community.
